Ok here it is folks. Kerry is picking up his criticisms of Bush lately, on domestic and foreign policy. I've been waiting for Kerry to make a big splash with some big, bold initiative, especially on Iraq. But then again, what was I expecting? This is John F. Kerry, and he is lame. So I'm reading the Washington Post, the article titled:
Kerry Acts To Re-Aim Iraq Focus
Democrat Says Bush Squandered Billions
By Paul Farhi and Jim VandeHei
Washington Post Staff Writers
Thursday, September 9, 2004; Page A01
Here is an excerpt:
Aides said Kerry is planning a speech soon in which he will offer a detailed plan to end, or greatly curtail, the U.S. military operation in Iraq by January 2009 and reduce the cost to U.S. taxpayers in the interim. The twin offensive is designed to help Kerry regain his political footing on Iraq as the number of U.S. personnel killed there topped 1,000.
Yeah!!! Yippeee! Kerry will have us out of Iraq in over 4 years! No wait, he will have 'curtailed' the US role there in 4 years! Is this a freakin' joke? First of all, I don't think we'll be in Iraq in 4 years. I expect we'll be driven from there much sooner than that. Juan Cole even said it's 50/50 on whether the Iraqis expel the Americans within 2 years (I forget when he said it, but he did). So this is Kerry's plan? Who are his stupid foolish advisors? That jackass Jamie Rubin who has said in the past that if Kerry was president we'd probably have removed Saddam already (which was quickly retracted by the campaign). How many more Americans will die at this pace by January 2009? People complain about the deaths in Vietnam from January 1969 to 1973 (tens of thousands) who died when the war was lost, and died for nothing. Now how many will die between now and 2009? I don't even feel like taking out my calculator to crunch the numbers. And I expect the situation to deteriorate further. How many Iraqis will be killed at the current pace by January 2009? And there will be no guarantee that that will even be the end of the US presence there? I know Kerry said he's opposed to bases there, but I'll believe it when it happens. Here's the link to the article. Enjoy. Have a nice day.
